• Club Reports
§University of Wyoming
· They have been helping their community and are struggling to keep membership requirements (12 member minimum)
§Colorado State University
· They have been working on community outreach and officer trainings.
· Each month they have Clover Café where they cook for their state office
· Gearing up for Round-up in January
· Have some new freshmen membership
§University of Nevada Reno
· They have been recognized by their university and have a 10 member standard.
§University of California Davis
· Membership is down- they only have 4 and their university requires a 5 member minimum
· They completed Regional conference
· They are working on You See Davis days and State field day
2008 National Conference
• They have been working with their College of Ag to make things run more smoothly.
• They are open to any ideas from clubs in the region
• Working on getting sponsorships and trying to lover the general cost associated with attending a national conference.
• They have been trying to determine a theme, and wondered what everyone thought of a “going green” environmental theme.
• They have been trying to work through some issues and are hoping for a great conference!

2007 Regional Conference
• UNR proposed a conference
• Location: Lake Tahoe, Reno Nevada
• They would like help with theme ideas and goals

· State exchange programs (getting it started)
· Establish a new club packet for the region
· Create a submission for the national service project to be associated with the 2008 national conference
· Would like to see a unified image of the region and have better communication

• Encouraged officers to set up a private email address for their office, so that the email does not change each year.

Definition of the Western Region
§Voted to strike Western Canada from the constitution and follow the USDA standard for regions

• Voted to create a new position for NAB representative that does not have to be the regional president

Standing Rule amendments
§To have monthly regional meetings among the officers and open to anyone who would like to attend from the region
§Voted to amend the standing rule proposal to include proxies

o In the event that the NAB representative is unavailable and fails to name a proxy, any member of the Western Region executive board is authorized to fulfill the duty.

Strategic Plan
• We would like to see NAB to produce an implementation plan for the strategic plan
• We would like to see more communication from NAB to the regions through our regional representatives
• We would like an email set up for national communications and NAB minutes to be emailed out
• We would like to see a written format for future members on the procedures and progress that has been made on the strategic plan
• We would like to see old NAB members and their replacements meet to discuss how to proceed with completing the strategic plan
• We decided to dedicate 5 minutes at each western regional business meeting to discuss the strategic plan
